Are You A Speed Reader? Test Your Reading Speed
Have you ever seen a speed reader get though a book? It may seem as though they are just skimming the pages but they are actually speed reading. They are comprehending everything they read even as they turn page after page with record speed. How can they read so fast and still comprehend and retain all that information? That’s what speed reading is all about. If you’ve ever wanted to become a speed reader, you should test your reading speed first to see if you’re already part of the way there. If after you test your reading speed you find that you read slower than the average person, then you have a ways to go before you can become a bona fide speed reader. But it can be done as long as you’re vigilant and you keep up with it.
The Internet Is a Great Speed Reading Resource
You can find a free online speed reading test by searching the internet. You may also be able to find free instructions on how to improve your speed reading test scores. However, most of the speed reading materials you’ll find, such as books and audio tapes, are going to cost you money; and for good reason. Speed reading is a skill that you have to learn. It takes practice and know how but it can be accomplished. Imagine being able to read a book, whether it’s for school or for pleasure, in record time; and to be able to remember everything you’ve read. You can find it on the internet with all of the rest of the how to articles, or you can buy the resources necessary. Then, once you’ve completed the necessary skill lessons, and you test your reading speed again, you’ll be amazed at how fast you can read.
One On One Speed Reading Lessons
The internet is one way to learn how to speed read, and books and audio tapes are another. However, nothing beats one on one teaching with a certified speed reading instructor. A speed reading instructor will test your reading speed, will teach you what you need to know, will work on your weak points and will be able to provide you with more tailored lessons. This is what makes a real life teacher far superior than the general lessons you’ll get from books or from tapes.
You may already be halfway to being a speed reader already. Test your reading speed and compare it with the average person. You never know, you might just require a few lessons and then you’ll be a real speed reader.
